Alentejo Heritage is an agency that I created in September 2018 for thematic visits to the local heritage of the region helping in its interpretation with my knowledge of ethnography and local history to all those who visit us.
The Alentejo is the largest region of Portugal with a history spanning millennia. It is this and other stories, as well as to know the region's own culture that I propose in thematic visits for the regional heritage - from monuments to handicrafts to gastronomy. For memorable visits!
In addition to the tourist agency, I opened a genuine regional handicraft shop in Arraiolos on the main shopping street on the same day, where you can find me when I am not on tour.
Who I am?
My name is Daniel Freixa, I have a degree in Anthropology (2006-2009) and an MA in Anthropology with a specialty in Tourism and Heritage (2009-2011), degrees obtained at ISCTE - Instuto Universitário de Lisboa.
I did a Masters thesis with the title: "By Water Paths: customs, knowledge and hydraulics in rural Alentejo".
In this research I developed the possibility of a thematic visit within the concept of eco-tourism on water.
