More than two thousand years of history,
the portuguese Royal City

Highlights: The historical center of Évora is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city was founded by the Celtic peoples. From the Roman presence we can admire in the acropolis the ruins of the Temple. Then came the invasions of the Visigoths. In the beginings  of the VIII century there was the conquest of the Moors with long presence until the Portuguese conquest took place in 1165 and made of it a Royal City where the court lived for long periods.

Main attractions: Roman Temple, Chapel of Bones, Church of San Francisco, Cathedral, Giraldo Square, Aqueduct of the Water of Silver and Public Fountains, Royal Palace and Botanical Garden, Church of Grace, Moura Gates and Window of Garcia de Resende, Church of Loios and it's blue tiles.
